Our Rooms
Upon entering the Lodge, you'll be greeted by the soothing sound of waves crashing on our shoreline. Expansive East facing windows welcome the morning light and open-air design seamlessly merge the indoors with outdoors’ natural beauty. All rooms are adorned with earthy tones, rustic wooden accents, and locally-sourced furnishings, embodying homeliness and heritage.

Take their names from the seasonal monsoon winds that shape Zanzibar’s coastline.
Sat side by side with a shared sense of calm and privacy. Each offers a spacious king bedroom, en suite bathroom, and a semi-shaded veranda, opening out toward the sea breeze and garden surrounds.
Simple, airy, and intentionally unadorned, Kaskazi and Kusi are places to rest between tides — shaped by wind, weather, and the rhythm of the ocean.
Ideal for couples, while functional for parties of three.
Banda
Banda on the beach
Positioned at the base of the cliff brings a sense of seclusion, closeness to the water, and exposure to the elements. Where the sound of the tide becomes part of the room’s rhythm.
This stand alone Banda sits right over the cove, metres away from the beach, Light spacious and airy, this room is both quaint and quirky. Featuring: A King size bed, sofa bed, Table, desk, clothing storage, and en-suite bathroom.
Basic in design but rich in setting, Banda is for guests who value proximity to nature, stillness, and the feeling of being held by the landscape rather than insulated from it

Hiraeth (Big House) — our first home at Sazani, open to the sea and shaped by time.
Built in a coastal country house style in the 1990s, Hiraeth takes her name from the Welsh sense of longing and belonging. Ideal for single and double occupancy.

Sit on either side of the hallway, which opens into a shared foyer and lounge. This leads to a communal kitchenette and a staircase rising to the house’s open-plan mezzanine deck, overlooking the tropical garden and azure lagoon beyond.
Built and decorated with local resources. The sense of seamless integration with our surroundings, adding a cosy feel. Furniture crafted from old dhow boats, and local artisans, meshed windows to capture the coastal breeze, fans, large en-suites, their own verandas, embracing authenticity and our sustainable ethos.
